Introductions for self-employed live-in carers
Ivy Palmer helps introduce self-employed live-in carers to families who are looking for support at home.
We do not employ carers or manage care placements. Instead, we help suitable carers and families make contact so both parties can decide whether an arrangement is right.
Working directly with families
Carers introduced through Ivy Palmer work directly with families or clients. This means the arrangement, payment terms, expectations and day-to-day communication are agreed between those parties.
This may suit experienced carers who are confident working independently and communicating clearly with families.
What we look for
Ivy Palmer is interested in hearing from carers who are:
- experienced in live-in care
- reliable and professional
- kind, patient and respectful
- confident working independently
- able to communicate clearly with families
- willing to provide appropriate checks, references and information
Your responsibilities as a self-employed carer
As a self-employed carer, you remain responsible for your own professional, legal, tax, insurance and safeguarding responsibilities.
This may include making sure you have appropriate:
- DBS or PVG checks where relevant
- references
- insurance
- self-employed status arrangements
- training and experience
- right to work documentation
- agreements with families or clients
Introductions, not employment
Ivy Palmer does not employ, supervise, direct or manage carers.
Any arrangement is agreed directly between the family/client and the self-employed carer.
