A simpler introduction process
Ivy Palmer introduces families to self-employed carers. We do not employ, supply, place, supervise, direct or manage carers, and we do not provide regulated care services. Any care arrangement is considered and agreed directly between the family/client and the self-employed carer.
We are an introductory service and do not provide or manage care directly.
You are entirely in charge of your own care
Step 1: Tell us about the situation
Families contact us to explain who needs support, where support is needed, the type of assistance required and any important routines or preferences.
- who needs support
- where support is needed
- preferred start dates
- important routines or preferences
- the type of live-in support required
Step 2: We introduce suitable carers
Where appropriate, we introduce self-employed carers who may be suitable for the arrangement. Families are able to speak directly with carers, ask questions and decide whether they feel comfortable proceeding.
- introductions based on the family’s circumstances
- opportunity to speak directly with carers
- time to ask questions and discuss routines
- flexibility to decide whether the arrangement feels right
Step 3: You decide whether the arrangement is right
The family/client and the carer make their own decision about whether to proceed with the arrangement. This allows families to remain closely involved in the choice of carer and the ongoing support provided at home.
- arrangements agreed directly between the parties
- families remain involved in the process
- flexibility around routines and preferences
- ongoing arrangements managed directly by the family/client and carer
Important information about our role
Ivy Palmer:

- helps facilitate introductions
- does not supervise care
- does not direct carers
- does not manage care packages
- does not provide regulated personal care services
- does not supply or offer carers, we introduce carers to you only

When managed care may be more suitable
Some people may require a fully managed or regulated care service, particularly where there are highly complex needs or where ongoing care supervision is required.
In these situations, a managed care provider may be more appropriate.
